I am Sonia Trim, a mental health counselor in training dedicated to supporting individuals as they navigate life's challenges, transitions, and personal growth. 

 

I specialize in supporting individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My approach is client-centered and collaborative, meaning we work together to uncover your strengths, process your experiences, and create a path forward that feels meaningful and sustainable for you. 

In addition to my academic training—currently pursuing my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at NYIT—I’ve spent years offering peer support, active listening, and community building through platforms like 7 Cups. I believe that mental wellness isn’t just about overcoming struggles; it’s about equipping you with the tools to navigate life with confidence long after our work together has ended.

I have experience in mental healthcare spanning over a decade. Through volunteer work, clinical internships, and graduate-level training, I have developed a refined approach to collaborative care, working within multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic support for my clients.

My path to mental health counseling was born from a deep belief in the human capacity for healing and renewal. I chose this field because I have always been moved by the quiet strength people show when navigating life’s most difficult transitions. Having navigated many challenging chapters myself, I guide clients from a place of deep self-awareness and authentic, ongoing inner work. 

What drives me today is the privilege of witnessing those moments of clarity and self-discovery. My work is inspired by the resilience I see in every individual, and I am committed to walking alongside you as you reconnect with your strengths and build a more grounded sense of self.
